rear quarter window lower trim help (again!)

Hi Team

Who out there has replaced the outside lower rubber quarter window seal and fluffy stuff successfully???

I have the new rubber seals and I have a generic Fluffy strip that I can use, BUT my question is this..

What do we use for the little rivets?? are these something that can be brought over the counter or do you have to make them? the old one's look like they are copper?

Any help here much appreciated

Any hardware store, just match diameter and length, can be aluminum or stainless.

There are now plastic pop rivets in several small diameters that may help in the prevention of rust. They look the same as the metal, aluminum, and S.S. ones. May want to try it out as a sample and see how much holding it has.

I mention this as the number one reason I see in practice for door rust on the bottoms/ skins is the deterioration of these felts that have a metal backing component that over time rust and disentegrate inside the door/ fender/ frame. So if your panels are off- check it, clean, reseal, etc.( sorta the rust starts within theory in practice.)

Just reskinned doors on an early Porsche for this reason alone a couple months back.

Thanks guys, Im going to use a short pop rivet, remove the shaft/nail and peen it over with center punch and hammer
