Hey All,
Just starting some winter suspension work, and am starting in the rear. The plan is to replace all bushings, starting with the subframe, and working the trailing arms next.
Is there anything special about removing/refitting the outer rear subframe bushings (the ones that attach under the seats)? Starting with the pass. side, I have all of the bolts out, have the long bolt that goes through the bushing out, and in theory the bushing should come out, but it's not cooperating. It did seem like the rear subframe was putting pressure on the last bolts, but I was able to take the weight off of them via the jack that's under the diff, and then jacking the body up/down.
The bushing is behaving like it's still attached to the body. I can keep manipulating the subframe position with the jack under the diff, but am just not sure if this is the correct way to go. So, looking for suggestions from veterans of this job.
TIA,
John
