The little black trim piece of the rear window pushes up on the
outer chrome lip , or better the gasket on it. it went so far that it pushed
it a bit away from the chrome lip.
is there a way of adjusting the rear window? i remember there were a couple of 10mm bolts on the inside.

You bet

there are screws to adjust the damn quarterlight in all directions. Try to figure out which does what, and be prepared to fiddle back and forth. I use a 1/4" ratchet with the 10mm socket on a 2" extender. Easy to manouvre and reach into the various slots to gain access to the screws.

You are aiming to get the door and 1/4 light glass parallell so that the vertical rubber seal on the 1/4 light touches the rear of the door glass by an even amount. You also want the overlap to be even which means tilting the 1/4 light. You then want the lower, 4" rubber seal which is glued to the 1/4 light, to be correctly centered into the chrom slot, and the top of the glass to enter the U-shaped felt channel etc etc.

Hard to explain, but time and patience will give good results (if you are lucky).

that sounds like a lot of fun

right now the car is nicely ticked in the garage.
but if there will be another rainy day with nothing obvious
to do... i'll get to that project :)
