One of my associates who built custom BMW's for 3+ decades is retiring soon, and has several bmw parts to get rid of. Of interest here: he has a few complete b35 motors with g265 transmissions for sale including new drivelines. Some have the rack of ribs intake setup, and the other has a b35 intake. A couple of the engines were complete tear down and builds. If i can figure how to put pictures on here again I will. I guess at almost 70 i am not internet savvy yet. $3000-5000 for the above engine/transmission/driveline setups. One of them had the m5 clutch kit setup and powder coated goodies. For those who would want them installed, there is a shop in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara that wires these motors into the coupes. Last I recall, it was very reasonable. I have dyno'd a few of his motors in the past. Ill do my best to reply to messages.

Does he have just a 265 Getrag for sale?

2 of the setups are spoken for. He says that the shop that will do the swaps charges a labor price of about $2300 for engine swap and efi wiring, and about $3k for b35 engine +g265 tran swap. They won't put in any engine though since they do not want to be responsible for a half baked motor. He says he has a rebuilt s38 as well in storage somewhere. Im sorry I cant get pics up yet. Kel

The race s38 is spoken for. 2 s38's remain. 1 that is very low mileage (35k) and another that was rebuilt (s38b35).

I have received some PM's about the s38 installs. Im not very good at posting pictures. At 70 I should have figured this out by now. You can PM me and I can email you. I have pictures from one of the last s38 installs that the shop did. I would highly recommend standalone engine management. I saw 17 rwhp pickup with a megasquirt 2 install on the dyno.

I am very interested, I have an M88 I am thinking about using in my E9 someday. I'll only do it if I don't have to hack up the firewall.

Thanks
James

James, you need to dimple the firewall to clear the valve cover. The 35,000 mile s38b35 is still available if someone wants an s38.
