Anyone here ever fit Recaro Trophy seats in their coupe? I know they are compatible with a few cars... VW jettas, sciroccos, BMW 2002's, e21's... but cant find record of anyone having them in their coupe. I'm assuming that since they are a direct fit for the e21 that they could be made to fit the e9, so long as they came with the e21 C-channel rail.

I am not sure about Recaro Trophy seats; I had Recaro Trends (circa 1990's; not sure if they still make them) in mine which I bought with a mounting kit from a company called PAR (I don't know if they are still around, but I originally found their ad in the back of Roundel Magazine). The kit was great. The seats sit a little higher than stock seats, but the comfort and adjustability was leaps and bounds better than the stock seats; plus they didn't look too out of place in the interior in my opinion.

thanks for the replies so far. Orangener - your interior is fantastic. the custom stitching looks great... something i hope to do in the future but for now, i just want to get something respectable in the car. the seats i have right now are absolutely beat... which is why i'm considering the recaro option. i've already acquired e24 rears (looking forward to the challenge of squeezing them into the e9 rear bench). I figure they'll last me for a few years until i can round up the $ to do something as beautiful as what you have done. The covered door grips and pockets are a nice touch. Any detail pics of the center console?

I think the bolt pattern and the seat base dimensions are the same on early Recaros. I just installed a set in my car; I had a friend make a set of adapters that attach to the original seat tracks.
I'm not sure what series I have but I'm sure they were produced in the early 80s and the seat base measures the same as a set of 1977 e21 Recaros.
