The Red L-Light in my dash continues to stay on when the car is turned off and the key is taken out wich drains my battery. The interesting thing is when the car is turned on the light turns off. Any ideas? Any Advice? Has anyone experienced this?

Recently had the same issue. In my case it was the Hazard light switch. I have no idea why/how a light switch would affect the the red L ignition light. I disconnected the hazard switch and everything is fine. I now need to buy a new hazard switch.

Check your Alternator plug, making sure it is secure. The plug has a blue lead that should go to the indicator light then from the light a green lead goes to the fuse (#6). That is if the electronics are similar to the 72' diagram.
In any case check the plug for a complete circuit. I would also check voltage output of the alt at pin 8 of the Orange test connector or at the alt plug blue lead. Test a little above idle and at off and ON not Run. Do it at the +Bat connector as well.
It is probably a lose wire or regulator is going...
