I’m deleting the condenser fan as I’ve deleted the AC system on my 72 Bav and installing an aftermarket Auxiliary electric cooling fan for the radiator.

Need help to confirm a few things that can be removed. Or there operation.
All items pictures are right side engine bay by ignition coil.

1) I believe I’ve identified these two relays and that they can now be removed. My only worry is if the change over relay being removed will effect the cabin blower motor?????

2) just want to make sure I’ve identified this module correctly and believe it’s
no longer needed with no more AC system/condensor fan??

3) can anyone identify these to boxes? They have a real good rattle in both of them when shaken haha

Ok might of figured out question number 3 looks like it’s most likely #5 and #12 according to the owners Manuel. Controllers for the speed sensitive magnetic valves #11 and #7. (Retard/advance)

My car is a 73 CS, but I'll take a crack at some of this. I think you are correct to be worried about the heater fan. The changeover relay in my car is a normally closed relay, with power flowing to the heater fan unless the relay is initiated. When the relay is initiated, the relay opens breaking the connection to the heater fan. If I have this right, you should be able to remove the relay and make a direct connection between the green brown wire on terminal 30 of the relay to the green brown wire on terminal 87a which should be the only other green brown wire on the changeover relay.

The other relay initiates the compressor and the aux fan. If you have removed the compressor and have another mechanism for the aux fan, you should be able to remove this. Note that the red wire on this relay runs directly to the battery across the nose of the car, so it would be a good idea to remover this wire entirely rather than having a potentially always live wire laying around in the engine bay.

I don't have the number 2 aux fan box in my car. Can't help there.

The number three items are carburetor/emissions related things that are unrelated to your air conditioning.

If you call me- I will explain in 5 minutes what the parts are and what to do with the wiring.

OR- here ya go...

The 2 silver boxes get disconnected and tossed.
the 2 relays get disconnected and saved.
Insulate the black wire going to the round relay on right from firewall and leave it there.
Backtrack the big red wire going to the round relay on left and disconnect from battery.
Remove the black square box with X on it and keep it.

thanks for the info!
thanks!

Just talked to Don on the phone and was very helpful and informative. Both relays in number one picture do not effects my cabin blower motor. Blower motor still runs after all the above stuff is disconnected. like Don said on the phone if i do turn on my ac switch on the dash the blower motor does stop and the ac cabin squirrel cage starts up. I can hear the “Change over“ relay for that function clicking under the dash probably where Don suggested located under the fuse panel.

wont bother me as i will never be touching the AC knob for the foreseeable future Anyways.
