Removing the 'locks' for seat sliders from a chassis

Can anyone tell me how to remove the locks on the outer side of each seat slider from the chassis? They had been removed on my car when the custom seats were installed, and another owner has a chassis with them in it, but he doesn't know how to remove them, so I can buy them.

These are spring loaded and the lever comes up through a hole beside the seat with a black knob on top to push out so the seat can be moved forward or backward. The other owner has the seats out of the car, and the sliders gone, so access shouldn't be a problem. But, not having them, I don't know what needs to be done.

Any help will be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Actually you pull the knob toward the inside of the car to release the "lock" and slide the seat forward or back. I would expect that once the seats are out (of the other car) it will be easy to see. IIRC the "lock" is a metal comb with thick blunt teeth on the body, that engages a similar arrangement on the seat.

It's been a while since I was there, but I don't recall any particular difficulty. The seats come off by taking out a 6mm (10 mm hex head bolt) at each corner. Seats weight a good bit, be warned. Seat out, you can see the mechanism.

Thanks Charlie, but the problem is the other owner can't see what holds the mechanism in. The seats, sliders and 'comb' are out. It is the spring loaded mechanism that engages the comb that we need to get out.

Another owner has e-mailed me indicating the spring loaded 'lock' is held in by two slotted bolts that frequently have the slots filled with paint/tar, so are hard to recognize. Hopefully this will help the owner remove them.
 
The comb springs and lever are all one unit. There are 3 slotted screws at the top of the box that the chair sits on that holds the assembly in place. I can take a picture later on today since I just installed mine.

I thought you said the guy had already taken those screws out that hold the mechanism to the body of the car. If not, I guess that would explain why he can't figure out why the assembly won't come out. The knobs don't have to come off....
