Reno: Very nice '74 Bav. - $8,500

Worth every penny! I hope these cars start to get more attention. I wonder if thin bumpers would retro-fit easily on the 74+Bav?

Great looking car with a cool story. I agree - worth every penny, and it looks like E3s are starting to be seen as undervalued next to their E9 siblings.

The big bumpers on the later cars are starting to grow on me, no pun intended. There's something charming about how awkwardly integrated they are, and the stylistic dissonance between the '60s body and the '70s/'80s black rubber Euro-look of the bumpers. It's especially stark on the later 3.0S/Si, with the full-power leather interior, slick alloys, and mod bumpers tacked on to what was quickly becoming a hopelessly dated body design.

It reminds me of the late first-generation Saab 9-3, which tried to hide its ten-year-old styling under aero skirts, chunky wheels, and even a shark fin satellite radio antenna to limited success but considerable charm.
