Just opened my W & N replacement indicator switch and found, to my dismay, that the stalk does not come with the nine pin plug that's on my current faulty stalk. Instead, there are nine loose colour-coded wires each terminated with a Fason-style terminal connector.

Any suggestion for how I can mate this up with the plastic, female nine-pin plug under my steering column that runs to the indicator/wiper circuit? Perhaps my only option is to remove the female plug and add tabs to each wire. Am I the only one who thinks its a pita that the W & N stalks don't come with the nine pin male plug...

My coupe is an injected RHD 72.

your information is a mess for me, i can not understand clearly what you have received, probably a photo can help

but:

1- if you have received faston spades or female plugs in your wallothnesch order, you can remove the plugs from your old white plastic case, and place the new ones in the same position, and use it

be careful when you remove the old ones not to break the tiny retainers (in the white plastic case) that locks each faston plug, or when you introduce the new ones they will be loose

2- this is a new unpleasant experience of repros from walloth&nesch, i bought a NOS of this indicator switch one year ago and it was complete, with the white plastic case

good luck

It can be done

I switched (pun intended) a wiper control unit from one year to another. The pin assignments were different in the two plugs. I studied the wiring diagram and found that only two of the pins needed to be changed in position.

You can remove the pins by carefully depressing the little prong that locks them to the plastic multiplug, then reinsert them until the prong locks the wire into the multiplug. Be patient and cheerful that they aren't smaller - they could have been!

I expect the metal prong thing is available somewhere, but haven't had the need to search for it/them.
