Does anyone have any experience with these. Im looking at one in Germany. Cost about 270 euro. Anybody know anything about quality?

W+N has the BMW box for 273.40 euro (without VAT). i have this box and it is perfect ... made from much stronger plastic than the brittle original. there are several people with this box and it is totally worth it. BMW part 71111102916 - prince in the US is 440 bucks from getbmwparts.com ... MSRP form BMW is 458 bucks

And this comes with the foam insert and chromed latch? Did you ever get the feeling that you wasted a few weekends and a bit of money when you see something like this?

luckily i bought mine when it was cheaper ... when it first came out you buy one for about 250 bucks ... which i did. now i don't think it has the chromed latch, but it does have the foam insert. i have a very good original toolbox, which came with my coupe, that has been reinforced and that is my spare for 'just in case' something happens to the new one. so i didn't spend anytime on it.

I bought one also. I does have the chromed "screw" to close the clamshell

bottom line - i don't remember if it is a chromed latch or not. as my car isn't here, i can't run out and check
