Hi,

Finally, restoration is completed. I bought the car in the year of 2002 and then started the restoration in 2003. So, seven years later the car (1972 3.0 CS polaris) is fit to hit the road as a new born.

Now - rust free, new paint, new upholstery, new headliner, new carpets, new shocks, completely re-done trunk and retractable front seat belts.

I wish to extend my appreciations to the http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/ for all the valuable information, guidelines and answers that have guided my restoration project toward the finish line.

Sincerely,

Per

Well done!

The car looks good. Would you mind sharing which parts you used and the work involved for the front retractable seat belts. Thanks!

I bought the seat belts from Jaymic. (www.jaymic.com). You got to make sure that they are long enough. The belt that Jaymic display on their web is too short. I talked to Fay at Jaymic, she can help you.

I had to make an extension – otherwise the belt will run over the throat instead of the shoulder, (refer to # 1 in the enclosed picture). I took material from the end of the new seat belt and then stitched the extension and re-stitched the end-of the belt (a friend of mine did the job; it must be done correctly in case of an accident). I got the metal-loop (refer to # 2 in the enclosed picture) from my old seatbelts.

The extension is bolted to the roof, underneath the headliner, there are pre-made wholes/points for attachment. The same is true underneath the carpet at the floor.

Regards,
Per
