Hey All,
Been a while since I've posted but I'm hoping for some good recommendations on shops in my part of the world.
After nearly a year of having fun with some limited fixes to my '72 Bavaria I'd like to make the jump to full restoration. I love in East Los Angeles and would prefer a shop nearby, however, I'd be willing to make a solid drive to get the car in the right hands.
At the moment the car runs really well, though with a bit of throttle lag. It needs a bit of engine work, likely carburetor-centric.
Beyond engine I need to:
-Repair lower body rust patches
-paint touch-ups/possible respray
-repair or replace exhaust
-wheel restoration (pre-alpina spokes with some weathering)
-interior carpet supply, sizing, and installation.
That should just about get the car ready to show. If anyone knows a local SoCal shop who could give it a discerning eye and recommend service providers that would be a great start too.
See attached pic from a summer trip up the Angeles Forest Route 2! Hauled the whole way up to 7000 feet and gobbled up the turns. Such a joy to drive.
