For those of you who have retrofitted AC to your coupes, how did you make, or where did you find, the interior flared pipes that lead to and from the evaporator to the firewall? I'm not finding anything on that on prior posts,

Luis,

I know you can buy adapters from flare to o-ring where Steve got his compressor. They have three sizes but I don't know which one you would need.

Chris

OK, thanks Chris that makes sense, I think I've seen those on Nostalgic or Coldhose. The same websites also sell the tubes in 12", 18", 24" and 36" lengths so hopefully one of those lengths will work for the coupe.

If anyone has photos of what the tubes look like when they cross the firewall, on both sides, that would be great to see. On my E3, the tubes cross the firewall through grommets and protrude 2-4 inches before connecting to the rubber hoses.

My tubes are intact so I could probably get you a picture tomorrow.
I am in the process of redoing my system with new hoses, expansion valve, parrellel flow condenser, etc.

You could run hoses through there as an option?
And you can still get flare ends for hoses and new copper flare washers.

Let me know if you want a photo?

Gary

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Did you make those pipes or are they original?

They are the original tubes. The bends are all about clearing the glove box. BTW, I bought a trinary switch, could not resist you suggestion, but it doesn't fit the behr dryer port. Did you buy a switch?

I haven't yet but I will. My plan is to buy one of the hose "T" fittings that includes a bung for a switch.
