revisiting the AC upgrade, Sanden, E28 wing cell etc.

If I understand the right ups on this, an E28 bracket doesn't work easily with a Sanden compressor

To use the E28 bracket easily all I need to do is get the compressor that goes with it
Is that true?
Anyone have experience with after market compressor like the following?

We use the cheap compressor, factory bracket, Karounas adapters. Cheap...

Lemme guess... A brief web search suggests it's an adaptor between the hose connections on the compressor, to those on the refrigerant hoses.

And you forgot a wrench in there! Might be a Craftsman 13mm combination...?

Thanks, that was my guess, I couldn't find the adapter with a quick search, will look further

Refers to an old friend with a Greek name that designed that special bracket. Genetic/pharmaceutical research guy with a penchant for ‘80 bmw cars. I call him James.

This doesn't fit with the overall direction of the thread, but I used a bracket by a Ice Auto Air: http://www.iceautoair.com/index-1.html

I understand Don is in the business and needs to keep his costs down, but as I hobbyist I sometimes spend a little more when somebody goes to the trouble to make up a custom part that solves a problem for our cars. Otherwise these guys go out of business.

Hi Don
Thanks a million for the info, advice and links

I will probably stick with option A which is what Steve Hose and others have done, which is use the E9 aluminum and steel brackets and a universal Sanden adapter which I bought quite a while ago

Thanks! Mark
