SCM just sent me a notice of the two upcoming RM auctions featuring over 150 cars from the collection of the late John Quinn. Although no E9s are involved (no real interesting BMWs at all in fact), there are two Porsches that are of interest.
N/R - '73 RSR reproduction
N/R - '96 993 TT
There are countless examples of early american cars and even some quirky european cars like a Messershmidt bubble car.
I'm not really involved in following the collector car aution circuit, but it seems like a significant "lot" or inventory to be released at one time. Maybe the market has that type of capacitry, but if I were the Executor of the estate, I'd suggest that the cars be offered in phases.
