Last month I drove from Frankfurt, Germany to Newcastle, England for a College reunion hosted by our old Professor.
Initially we planned to drive through Belgium, past Spa Francorchamps, to catch our Ferry between Rotterdam (Netherlands) & Hull (N/E England)
As it turns out, luckily... we were late setting off and chose a more direct and quicker route over Köln and across the Netherlands.
Luckily, as 15min from a fantastic e9 specialist, the Fan-belt failed as we joined the Motorway leaving Köln.

Left at the side of the road, the Car was towed to our saviour in very un-dignified fashion, and we were left to call an Uber.

I had researched a couple of specialists on our route, and luckily quickly managed to get hold of Wolf at https://scuderia-sportiva-colonia.de/de/

Thanks to Wolf, within 2 Hours of the fan-belt failure we were back on the road!
It would have been quicker had we not spent considerable time discussing and drooling over the dozens of Cars in his fantastic workshops.
So lucky to have the drama where we did, and after some nasty Dutch traffic and weather, we just caught our Ferry at Rotterdam.

For the rest of the trip the car was faultless. (Apart from the usual niggles)
1000miles/ 1600km mostly cruising at 110-120km/h (approx. 70mph) we averaged 28mpg / 10l/100km.
... I plan now to see if the Carbs are blocked :D

Nice!

28 MPG! That is high. Maybe Wolf worked some wonders on fuel efficiency, or perhaps you are counting also the miles the car was on the ferry :)...

Not sure how it is in the US, but Fuel in Europe is getting difficult to find without 5-10% Ethanol content. Obviously try to avoid it where possible. Really bad for older rubbers and hoses. Car was rarely used last year could be its also been blocking Carburettors.
