For any folks in the Seattle area - the local 2002 group is getting together for its annual '020202' event.
First held on the appropriate Feb 2, 2002 date (020202) back 23 years ago - this has turned into an annual activity.
We often have a decent amount of fun cars to look and old friends to visit with. The weather often is not great - but it's early February in Seattle -so - you get what you get. This year there should be a coffee and donuts available. If the weather is decent - I'll take the Coupe. If not - I'll take my E23.

10am to 2pm at Don Armeni Boat Ramp (plenty of parking - and an awesome view of Seattle)
1222 Harbor Ave SW, Seattle 98116

Hope to see some nice cars there - great way to meet the 'old car' BMW folks....
See pics of an earlier event...
Keep the shiny side up :)

Thanks @JMinPDX - Was great to meet you also.
Was also good to see @bimbill & @e30austin (what a fun 2002 'truck' to see again - I had seen it when Mike drove it - but that was MANY moons ago).
The weather was a bit fuzzy.... so much so that I had to go to my third choice of ride and drive the F250 as I had about 6" of snow at the house when it came time to leave yesterday morning.

Oh well - was worth it. I appreciate the folks that came from Oregon (and other reaches) to make the 020202+23 fun.

There was one interesting thing that happened...
There was a young couple that just happened to be there taking wedding pics (or engagement pictures or something - they were very nicely dressed up - very weather inappropriate - LOL) - but totally appropriate for nice outdoor shots with Seattle in the background.
They also had a photographer with them who was trying to help them get the perfect shot.
Evidently - the couple (or the photographer?) thought the cars were neat and ... the white 2002 matched the white dress the young lady was wearing, so...
As I understand it they asked if they could use that car in their photographs. So - the car was moved to the water side of the parking lot and they were taking all sorts of pics in and around the car and having fun with that...
The thing was that the car was put right next to where my (very non-photogenic) truck was parked - I did not know what was going on at first but then I noticed the photographer was trying to work around my truck and shooting with the camera to her side to get a better angle.... When I saw that - I went over and asked if it would help if I moved my truck so they could have an easier time of it - The three of them were saying how nice everyone is for letting them use the car and that this was 'the perfect day' - and smiles all around.
Out of their privacy - I did not take any pictures of them, but that was my favorite part of the day (aside from seeing both old and new friends).
I included a pic of a very heavily modified M10 with supercharger to make up for that.
When that car arrived - you heard it well before you saw it. The supercharger whine it make is incredible...
Patrick at Midnight Motorsports did that and some of the other fun cars there as well.

Cheers.....
