Scheel seats--Alpina center cloth?

I bought 2275133 '72 CSL at London Auction last year and am wondering what to do about the interior. I guess sometime in the past the scheels were swapped for scheel 400s and at that time or later this orange center cloth was inserted. I've seen it before in some 2002s and didn't know if anyone recognized it. Is it from alpina? one 2002 owner suggested it was. Anyway...presently there is a perfect black velour standard interior in the car and I'm thinking about putting the scheels back in. What would you do? Get some made by Gerrit to replace these or put these in as is? with redone side bolsters which have faded? or redo them with original cloth? Just wondering. I've got another set of scheel 400s now and will probably do those in black leather just for a change or in preparation for a s38 or some such modification project soon.

Thoughts?

Here's the car

Alpina Scheel

There were several styles of striped Alpina scheels from ads or one car that was for sale some time ago but badly rusted but had the red stripes that I've seen. Rumor has it that there were CSLs with these seats from the factory ( at least one known) But there are others here who track these things.

Perhaps someone else can comment who more closely tracks CSLs.

If it's original on a CSL; my vote- original due to the car's value. But you'd have to look past the period look too if that bothers you and go with the classic csl look.

There was a source for the cloth w/ stripe on the 2002 site. Do know if that's good any longer. D-M....? The post is there.

Original on a CS?

Thanks for the input. I am very interested to hear that some CSLs came from the factory that way bc the owner who auctioned the car said these were the original seats that came with the car. But I assumed they had to have been swapped out at some point. As you can see the car had factory BAT 2 spoilers added at a later date and then the "comfort" interior replaced the scheels front and back. If they are original to the car I could definitely deal with the period look. Car drives beautifully by the way.
