Seat back release lever knob

I can't seem to get the knob off the seat back release lever to replace the rectangular trim piece underneath. Any tricks? I am reluctant to use too much persuasion.

Use a wide slotted screwdriver, put it against the knob and pry out. It may need a little force, but it should pop right out. Held with real tight friction only.
