Seat belt receiver recover

I have my seat belts out to insulate floor and, well a ton of other things. Now that I am putting the carpet back in, I wish to improve the "tatty" looking seat belt receivers. They are covered in a black vinyl-type material, but it is cracked in places and the inner metal core is exposed. Has anyone recovered these receiver stalks?

You can use black shrink wrap but it has to be large enough to fit over the mounting end. I think two layers look best.

Ah, yes, I thought about that product Chris. I will try that and, in my experience, gotta go slow with that shrink wrap. Two layers, I think that is the key. Thanks! Mike

Yep, I just restored a bunch of receiver's and I used heavy duty shrink wrap with the adhesive on the inside 2 times for each one, looks pretty close to original

2 times seems to be the way to go. Thanks for the advice Chris and Rick

And the stuff I used was a 4 to 1 shrink rate so I could use a larger diameter of shrink wrap to get it over the end easier and then would shrink up nice and tight.
