Start with seat back tilted forward to give access to components.
There's a little gray metal piece with a pin coming out from seat back bottom, the pin fits thru a bracket that is attached to seat bottom.Pin is held in place by a little clip, pry off clip and seperate two pieces. You can now slip seat release cable off of hook.
Next remove two screws holding chrome kidney shaped piece.

Great pix, Paul. On the top section, How does the back separate from the cushion? I'm planning on re-upholstering my seats (I have a leather-capable sewing machine and a
wife who is an expert seamstress) this winter. Any tips I should know about?

Bill, scroll down this section to post of 10-29-11,"front seat disassembly",there are some pics of seat with back off.No hidden screws or anything you just need to gently pry it off.Might be some old glue overun making it stick together but try starting at bottom lip and run your fingers or plastic putty knife between cushion and seat back.Lift and then kinda pull out and down to free back from u-shaped trim piece.
