I just bought a '73 3.0CS that has (among many other issues) a beat-up driver's seat. I redid the interior of my '73 3.0CSi over 20 years ago (swapping it with the interior from a later car) and learned a lot about the interior configurations then, but forgot all of the ins and outs. Much of it came back to me regarding the difference in seat pleating between the early (vertical pleating) and later (horizontal pleating) cars.
This car has a black vinyl interior with vertical pleating. The seats have a herringbone pattern that matches the pattern on the front and rear door cards.
I'm looking at options for the interior (try and find one black vertically pleated vinyl E9 seat with herringbone pattern; replace both seats with other E9 seats; replace both with Recaros).
Here's my question: Did the cars with vertically-pleated LEATHER seats ALSO have this herringbone pattern in the seats, or is it just the vinyl seats that have the herringbone pattern in them?
