I need to know where these parts go inside the slider

Thanks Barry

Inside the slider at the back, they are the stops BUT I can't remember where the long one goes and where the short one goes There are plastic ends as well that cover the end of the rails so you don't catch the edge of the rail with body parts

Best that I can do, someone else will pop in with more info

Thanks, Rick

Each time I see a seat rail post, I realize mine are a bit compromised. The longer bars go in the back (I have those), the shorter in the front (I don't have those). Plastic bits for me were on the back of the rails. They screw through the rail, through the chrome plastic hockey stick and into the base of the seat. Here is the back of my driver's seat.

Come to find out, they are not needed.

Well, what they do is prevent that the bearings (balls) are used as stoppers; if they are used as the stopping elements, they will absorb the impact of the mass of a full person+seat mass in a very small area (ball to flat surface) over a very short time (shock): they will deform over time and create dimples in the seat rails in those end positions, making it harder and harder over time to get your seat out of those end positions.
Especially the balls in the rear end track position will have a tendency to "dig in".

I think (but not sure) that the ones in the front of the rails limit the forward travel of the seat, so the seats don't run into the corners of the center console, gnawing at the thin black Vinyl.
