Apologies if this has already been addressed but I couldn't find anything that seemed to deal with my query. Firstly , before actively pursuing alternative /replacement seat options , I want to exhaust the possibility of refurbishing the metal components on the original seats .Specifically
1. The decorative metal (aluminium? ) strip is somewhat dented/scratched in parts and given I intend to get new upholstery, I think the metal components will diminish the finish .
2. The large chrome headed screws ( that screw into the "hockey stick " chrome plate covers ) are a bit tacky too ...are these available anywhere ?... incidentally, I could not even find a part number for these .
3. I assume the side cover plates can be readily removed/ rechromed
Would be grateful for any suggestions/ideas
