I have newly upholstered seats but the trim pieces that run around the front seat base and back are badly scratched and dented. Has anyone tried to repair and / or refurbish these?
I used a wire wheel on a bench grinder in an out of view part of the trim and immediately tasted aluminium in the back of my throat from the dust, so I stopped right there.
Last recourse is to wet sand them back to a smooth finish and paint them or have them chromed.
I am assuming that they are no longer available.
