Gruppe,

My motor builder checked in and is seeking an '80-87 M30 larger diameter (1/2" diameter with a yellow pull?) oil dipstick to complete my build. He told me they are NLA and is trying to find one.

Anybody got one?

TIA!

I have a yelllow dipstick like the one pictured. Where do you check the 1/2" measurement?

Not sure, just relayed bldr's verbage.
Think the dipstick tube slightly narrower on older m30s?

The rubber seal bumps measure 1/2"; looks like its designed to seal a 1/2" tube. Length from the part of the seal cover that would sit atop the tube to the end that would insert into the oil is 16 7/8".

we have 20 dipsticks and no tubes...

The pickers always bend them.

Sometimes it is almost impossible to take the tube out of the block without damaging it even from the inside (walls are flat, tube is stucked, no anchor point & steel tube is made of is soft).
