Guys,
I just bought a little (literally) toy to wrench on as a distraction during my search for a replacement to the E9 I shouldn't have sold.
I checked with my usual shipping company (Intercity) and got a quote of $2500 to move this toy from eastern Oregon to Boston. That's too expensive for a 1000lb mini-car.
I'm looking for alternative transport ideas. How about a racer on his way back from POR with space in the trailer? I'm alright with open transport as long is it's not a commercial open car carrier, no chassis tie downs (only wheel straps), and they let me wrap the car in plastic once it's on the trailer.
I suppose could drive the car from eastern OR to someplace more convenient (SF, Cheyenne-WY, Denver-CO) and ship from there. Wouldn't want to drive thru Yellowstone in this as the last time I was there a bear tried to roll our car over.
Worst case, I might grow some cojones and attempt to drive it back, but it's geared for autocross which would make for a very tiring 70mph cruise. It's not like the Peter Egan days when the national speed limit was 55mph. At least I don't have to worry about it getting wet as it won't rust.
Thanks for any/all ideas. Jokes about driving a 32" high toy on American highways appreciated.
John
