Serial number search

My serial number is 2202002 but when i try and find out it comes us an 83 4 liter but i own a 70 2800cs???

You have a Euro 2800CS 4 speed from the VIN, Carfax and other search sites don't recognize the 7 digit VIN, they are part of later 14 and then 17 digit VINs. No worries. Even the BMW VIN Decoder won't recognize it.
