I moved four years ago, and I do all my own work on my coupe, but have a couple of suggestions.
Doug Dolan has used Excluservice in Rockville, MD for years and they are very good. I know several people in VA that use London Auto in Fairfax and they are quite good as well. One of the guys who started London Auto, and who trained their BMW mechanics, is a friend of mine and lives (in SC) about two miles away. I know he still consults with London Auto on e9 stuff.
I have used Eurasian in Tysons Corner for an alignment and inspection on my coupe, and they have done a bunch of work on my other BMWs.

In Wilmington I use European Performance on Kirkwood Highway. BMW only shop. John the owner is an old timer and just great. Honest, fair and knowledgeable on my E28, M635 and my new E9 is going to see him this week. Highly recommended.
