shift knob

I would like to replace my shift knob with one that looks relatively period correct and made of wood. What have others done? What "fits" the coupe?
Do the new style knobs work?

If you have the original shifter, new knobs will not work. They are based on snapping on, rather than screwing on to the shifter.

Very nice pic!

Same as fitted to my CSi. They are 55 Euros on Walloth and Nesch website.

Last year i bought two single seats of used aftermarket Recaros in Ebay, in bad condition but cheap, they are called "Recaro Idealsitz CS" with electrical seat height adjustment and seat heating. The driverseat has also a manual pump for an air cushion to support your back. They are very comfortable and have a good driving position, unbeatable cause i allways had backache in my old seats.

The new leather with orange stitching was done in Bratislava, capital city of Slovakia, only 70 km from Vienna. The wages per hour in Slovakia are more favourable than in Austria, but the quality of the work is quite the same......and they use origin german quality leather.

On the pics below you can see all they have done, arm rests, seats, dash, middle console, door cards, the also made a new carpet for 2500€.

Not cheap, but i think a good value.

I changed the original E9-side pockets to them from E28, the seatbelts in the rear are from E39, the front seatbelts are aftermarket i bought on Ebay.
