Shipping from France to US

I am trying to have a package about the size of a box that would hold a small toaster oven shipped to me from a village outside Nice. And I would like to have it shipped directly to me rather than my having to escort it through customs at Newark airport. Ugh!

I beg the gods of shipping that it not have to go through JFK.

I am open to any and all suggestions short of a round trip to France.

I checked with UPS, they don't do that kind of thing. We are dealing with an elderly caretaker through an intermediary here in the states.

I will try DHL and FedEx. And suggest the Post Office. The French PO strikes on an irregular basis and takes off every Holy Day and saint's feast day imaginable.
