I just bought this car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150616353492&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I love the chrome bumpers, etc. that are on the earlier models. Someone told me that the earlier models had a chrome grill and hood vents too, in addition to the chrome side vents. I can't seem to find any pictures of the chrome hood and front grill. Anyone have any reference pictures, or thoughts on whether I should swap this out, and a good source for these parts?

I am not trying to keep the car 100% original necessarily.

Thanks!!

Your car has custom closing panels on the the front wheel wells to prevent rust. I have on my car volvo liners; just like a modern car. Unless it's easy to take those closing pieces off, I don't recommend the change; unless you just gotta have it. Then as Steve says- go for it and save the parts should you change your mind in the future. It's your car- be happy.

Euro bumpers and chrome grilles on hood and fender, a perfect combination for a black E9:

As Alan and I both know, when you fall in love with a '74 car and take her home, the fun just starts. An exercise for sure. I like to say "10% perspiration and 90% contemplation" The modifications to the car are limitless...you will have visions of flared out be'winged CSL's dancing in your head. If you can do a lot of your own hands on work and have your ideas appreciated...way cool. I am not shy about posting photo's of my car...search my posts!
