I've contacted a few places about the side mouldings and it seems half of them aren't available. I'm looking for the waistline strips that go around the car.

Has anyone had any luck finding these?

I've found the 4 other trim pieces from the dealer. Walloth and Nesch sells parts xxxx..605 and 606. But the two front left pieces don't appear to be available. I called BMW Atlanta and they can't get them either. It seems weird that BMW would sell all but two pieces :neutral:

Those 2 pieces I have not attempted to purchase...odd that they list the part numbers.

I obtained all those about a year ago from dealer, except for 605, which was NLA. Did you call your dealer and have them look in Germany's inventory?

Related to this, I ordered -600, front right moulding twice, separated by about 6 months, and it was an incorrectly made part in both instances. It has the curve of the rear moldings, not the front so it doesn't fit at all. Also, the rear end is cut incorrectly, it needs to be cut at an angle to allow for the door to open but instead it's cut at 90 degrees. I think BMW just made the last batch incorrectly.

Exact same thing happened to me. I ordered the right front molding and what came was the left rear, with the part number for the right front. Tried again and the same thing happened. Finally my dealer got one straight from Germany and the correct right front piece arrived.

First off, try Marshall at 02 salvage. Also Bimmer O2.com lists all Craigslist adds for e3/e9 by region. I have found some parts and great people willing to ship.

Well I am feeling guilty (not really) as I got my hands on all these about 2 years ago when there were just a few available. Fedex can be blamed for destroying two front right moldings ( the last two per Tomkinson BMW), bent on delivery. I ended up using WD-40 and 4-0 steel wool to decently clean the rubber on my old one.

Luis, you have to be correct. The rear curved moldings and the left front had the curves way off and took a lot of messaging to get them to fit. All told, the time to replace all my moldings after respray was equal to the time it took for everything else like bumpers, sunroof etc. Plain PIA.

NB: When I replaced these, I put a small amount of 3M strip caulk around each fitting outside and each cap nut inside since this seems to be an easy sight for water/rust.

Side moldings

Hi;
I believe Walloth & Nerch has them. They are not cheap. Also try CSI.
I had all new moldings 10 years ago waiting for my coupe to be painted and somehow they never came back with the car and the body shop said they never were in the car.Oh well over $1000 out the window!

599 and 601 appear to be not available anywhere. I purchased 605 and 606 from Walloth and Nesch. I contacted 02 Salvage. They said they had them and they were $60 each. I may have to get creative with assembling the best of the ones I took off to "make" the replacement.
