Simple Dead Pedal?

Does anyone have a simple solution for a dead pedal? I'm prepping the car for the 1700 mile round trip to The Vintage in May and, these days, my sciatica causes me discomfort if my left foot isn't planted nice and firmly against a dead pedal.
