Another wonderful Austin morning! Hey, this was common place 40 years ago.

I once parked my coupe in the garage of a very well-to-do friend, the other car was an old thunderbird (no pun intended...)

His 'Gardner' pulled up and with a smile, asked me to move my car...it was raining and I simply looked at him and said 'it doesn't like the rain'....

I have since pulled my windshield wipers and from personal experience....disike a wet coupe....its a lose situation, but oh well....

Ouch...the poor CS body! If the coupe was driven for rather prolonged periods on wet roads, then it would be wise to unbolt each of the panel in rear of both l/r wheel wells and check for collection of water in these cavities. The fast rotating front tires will throw a vast amount of water into these aforementioned areas.

i agree it is a beautiful image to see all those spherical drops gathering around the pristine paint and shiny chrom, it is like a lady wearing a wet T-shirt

...well i can probably say this so calmly, because she is not my lady !:)

My coupe hasn't been in the rain in about 30 years.

The last time was in the mid-80s when we were driving back from the BMWCCA Oktoberfest in Rochester, NY. I had replaced the left fender and repaired the holes from rust, but had not done the right side. My wife said that there was water dripping on her feet. When I investigated I found the glove compartment was full of water that came in through the holes in the firewall. I stuffed towels in the holes to slow down the flow and finished the drive home. I finished the repairs before the next Oktoberfest trip, and only drive it on "coupe" days where the roads are dry and there is no chance of rain.

Any time Athena's caught in the rain on a trip I cringe. Now that I have Lokari fender liners I feel her delicate lady parts are more protected. The cars are made of compressed confectioners sugar.
