slim vs fat front direction lights

I'm not at this all that long and I am always learning new stuff. I had some cracks in my original lenses and found some others that were in better shape, when I went to put them on they would not fit because the "reflection cup" was too big. Well, it's not 100% stock so I took out the old dremmel and shaved about 1/3 inch of the "cup" and put the slimmer lenses on. Just asking for opinions and experience from others with this augmentation. I like the slimmer profile but did I just retro fit some lenses from a Peugeot 504? or a Studabaker Hawk-

I't's a little hard to tell but the slim one is pic 1 and the fat one is pic 2.

most people prefer the slimmer "euro" lenses. i have the slimmer ones on my coupe (italian 2 color lenses). i have a spare set of amber ones too.
