It's been three months since I moved south, almost 4 weeks that my young bride and beloved Labrador retrievers have joined me here in Santa Monica. Mr. Sims is 7 posts behind me in terms of total posts. Clearly I'm losing my E9 credibility. With the CSL in hibernation up north and virtually not a single tool in my possession down here, I am spending my weekends doing all sorts of fun things, none of which involve machinery. It's both refreshing and sad at the same time. I wish I had the space for the CSL and a couple of motorcycles.

Used to be, evenings after dinner I'd go out to the garage and run a cloth over the beautiful curves of my CSL, tighten a nut here, polish something there.

Now I'm not really sure what to do. I look forward to the day when I return north to the Cowpoke Racing garage.

The closest I've come to mechanical mana was a trip to the BMW dealer, two blocks away, to see the new 335i.

I like it. I like it a lot. Despite my fascination with M cars, 300BHP in that body sounds like a great combination in my book.

After many years of running a chamois to dry those curves, I tried the plastic squeegee from Dave Crawford's detailing kit, and it works great. Au revoir les chamois and drying towels.

Anyway, will be happy to visit your CSL in Norcal with the squeegee.
 
I test drove the new 335i coupe yesterday. I was very impressed with the entire package. The car was equipped with the sport package and automatic transmission with the paddle shifters. It was a little akward trying to manipulate the paddles, but I'm sure with some time, one would get used to it.

I think if I was to purchase a 335i coupe, I'd opt for the 6 speed manual, with the sport package. Now if I only had room in the garage!!!
 
TJ, I will be in Los Gatos in a few weeks. Do you want me to take the CSL out for some exercise??? :twisted:

you are missing some beautiful coupe weather up here in the Cruz.Toolow and I have been out for some classic blasts over to San Jose and up the coast lately .

If you come back for a weekend let us know beforehand and we could get a sunday Am meet with some of the other local suspects.
