Slow & Steady... Racing Stripes???

Very Slowly making some progress on my gray '75 e9.

I know I might ruffle some OEM enthusiasts feathers for painting this originally Orange car Nacht Bleu... But I think it looks sharp and has nice contrast with the trim & chrome.

I'm also considering adding racing stripes, and wondering if anyone in the vast coupe community has any advice or guidance in terms of a pattern or design?

Also looking for headliner/carpet/and potentially some new wood on the dash and doors (if even possible).

you can look at pics of the racing cars. i generally don't like stripes on cars - except for race cars to help identify them. i was looking for a picture of the motorsport cars in black - same paint scheme, just what is white is black ... or could be nacht. the CSL stripes on the side of the coupe looks great - just don't put CSL on a CS or CSi, use the correct text. there is also the motorsport stripes (3 color).

Always liked the simple twin stripes of the early Castrol cars and other early 'privateer' liveries.

I like the orange color combo best, but probably a bit too 70's for me....

Funny how CSL is such a protected class, certainly wouldn't want to try to pass yourself off as something you are not!

The subtle lines of your coupe in Nachtblau have the polished alum. trim lines already on the car. The only adder should be your choice of 14-16" dia. wheels. All of the other stuff looks fine on the race cars. Your car needs 3 things--color, stance, and performance.
