So for some reason my ballast resistor wire on my 74 has failed in a mighty show of smoke and heat. The car has an MSD ignition, so perhaps the load was too much. Odd though, it’s been fine for the past three years of daily driving, and the unit itself is at least 20 years old.

Regardless, I want to rewire it with a proper gauge wire. Where in the engine compartment is easy to tap into switched power?
Thanks!

Have more resister wire or can show you the point where green wire turns into resister wire.
Bottom line - filet your harness back from coil, remove burnt wire, inspect other wires, find crimp at green to resister wire and remove/replace with all green.
