What is even more amazing is how far suspension and rubber tech had *not progressed through 1990. One of my favorite ring videos is the RUF yellow bird from '87. It is scary as hell. Watch he driver sawing at the wheel and floating all over the track. Such an amazing run!

50 years later and the only thing that changed is the cars don't roll over. Same corner, same bad lines, same tank slapping off track adventures.

Interesting to see a few of those drivers (and/or riders) were not wearing seat belts and were thrown out of the vehicle. Also interesting to see a bunch of junk being thrown about that didn't look like car parts, but junk inside the car.
