We here at SoCal Vintage BMW want to wish all of you a Happy 4th of July holiday weekend! Please be sane and safe during these challenging times!
As you well know from years past, the 4th of July is when we usually open registration for the upcoming SoCal Vintage BMW Meet. However, given the current public health restrictions on outdoor gatherings, we are delaying registration until we have more definitive guidance from the LA County authorities overseeing our event. We are remaining upbeat and positive about our chances of staging the Meet on 10/31, but we don't want to start collecting registration fees until we have the green light to go forward. Despite the spike in coronavirus cases the past two weeks, we are proceeding with our other usual timelines to the Meet, so we are acting on the assumption that it will happen! We don't have any further information, we are in a holding pattern until LA County Public Health and Recreation and Parks gives us more definitive direction. Even if we do get to stage the show, there may be a lot of conditions and restrictions that go along with it. I would be surprised if we get to do a normal show this year, if at all- but we shall see.
We have been in discussion with some of our sponsors about open houses, and potential drives to accompany them, but again we are in a holding pattern until we get public health clearances. With the cancellation of Ofest out at La Quinta/Thermal, we are hoping to have a special open house on Saturday 9/19. We will share more details as it becomes apparent we can hold the event, so just be aware of the date. It may end up being a very busy fall - we just don't know, but keep your fingers crossed.
Other than that, there's little more to communicate, so we will be back when we have any further information on any of our events.
