One of the socket head bolts holding a rear caliper together on my '73 coupe was found broken.

The specification is as follows. 7mm X 1.0 thread pitch, 65 mm long, socket takes 6mm hex key, grade 10.9

Thanks,

Mike

Bolt

I should have been more clear when I put out the first plea. The reason that I asked the e9 forum is because the normal sources no longer carry this fastener. Apparently this bolt is unique to 3.0 CS rear calipers. The shop that is rebuilding my calipers has years of experience and doesn't have a source. LaJolla Independent doesn't have the bolt and can't get one. Coupeking is looking for options short of stealing the bolt off of a "rare 3.0 CS rear caliper." Peter's quote, not mine.

I guess sfdon couldn't resist and if he will send me one of the featured bolts that will fit my caliper I will post a photo of the installation.

Thanks,

Mike,

W&N sells a disc brake caliper conversion from solid to vented ( widens the exisiting caliper ). The kit has the bolts, plates in your photo, and it seemed pretty reasonably priced.

Oem shows the part number is still good. So maybe a dealer?

Dorman, the people that make all sorts of specialty parts sold in most auto parts stores also sells caliper bolts. Not a whole lot of information there, but there is a practice of oversize bolts. Perhaps a machine shop can make you up one from a larger bolt/ stud. Can't be that hard.. if you can find a sympathetic machinist.

That caliper shows up on a Bav too. So maybe there's someone out there parting..

My two cents for what it's worth...good luck though.
