With my recent binge on CSL specific wheels, I have to try and return some funds to the parts account which has taken a severe beating as of late.
This is a very nice E9 specific 38cm Petri with excellent chrome and good (not great) foam. This wheel has the square shaped foam /spoke interface that makes for a more accurate CSL clone when wrapped in leather, which was my intention. FWIW, I have someone on the UK that can rewrap in the original CSL style if that's to your taste.
The foam has some of the typical pourus features on the backside but the foams integrity is excellent with no slipping in the inner steel rim. There are 2 nicks at approx 8pm on the side of the wheel that aren't super noticeable unless you are looking closely at the wheel. Not noticeable when driving (See pictures). As mentioned, my intention was to try to get close to a real CSL wheel, so I was more concerned with the shape of the foam spoke bases and it's overall integrity and of course the quality of the original chrome, which is excellent.
The hub is a 2002 hub (6mm shorter than an e9 hub) and has the horn ring kit from @Wladek mounted. Super accurate and not cheap.
Included is a repaired 2002 petri hub (thanks @Markos!) cover. It's been repaired and is strong but my intention was to work on the grain match and respray. See pictures.
The horn button is an original, period correct, Petri horn button in excellent shape.
Considering that this an original e9 wheel and should increase the overall value of your coupe by 40 - 50k USD IF sold on BaT and sufficiently pumped, I'm requesting the paltry sum of $1300 bucks.
NOTE: I will also be posting a perfect 35cm Petri and 2002 hub seperately for those with a hot 02.
