somewhere, someone asked about this - Front Valance shape

I remember a forum member asking about the lower front valance about 3 months ago; if the dents in his valance were needed to be corrected.
While digging through pictures of NOS parts, i found this pic that answers the question. Notice how at least this repair section has, from the factory, a pre-dented lower valence?

Not sure if this is a bug, or a feature....

Looking at the shorter outer slits, it appears to be a post ~73 pressing.

Hah! I thought so. Worse than mine even. We've started metal finishing mine. If I get it straight then I guess it will be yet another area where I've deviated from stock.

Mind you that i do have seen other nos panels that were shaped smooth. My car is for instance.
But if yours is bumpy like this peculiar pattern it's likely " as factory condition"
