I just mounted my fresh set of self-redone wheels onto my Bavaria project. Always liked these wheels best on a Bav (and coupe for that matter) Still need the beltline trim installed and the new kidney from MT to come in stock.

very neat. Glad to see at least a very select few appreciate the E3. It is a great car and very much underrated (except for the sexy butt of the E9 which haunts me in my dreams, I would choose the E3 over the E9 any time. It´s the better car and handsome in its own way)

When sourcing the beltline trim:
Also try to get the original slim small stainless wheelarch steel trim. It makes a huge difference, making the car look more "complete" and "grown up". A bit like mascara... ;)

I´ll post some pics of my E3 if and when I ever get it presentable enough for my own tastes, and try to prove my point.

I agree about the original wheels, the do look very correct and tidy.

Only, the car looks slightly undertired with them. The optional 7x14 ET 11 are a lesser design (Alpina, Alpina look alikes, BBS, actually good designs, but they look too "young"), but give the car a much better stance. Yours is the prettier wheel, the others give the car itself a better look.
And interestingly (never would have thought, but I´ve learnt from personal experience with them) better directional stability. At higher speeds (80-120mph) the E3 tends to be quite "floaty" on the 6x14 ET 22 with 195/70. The 7x14 ET11 fixes that even with the same tires.

Very nice Bav. Keep us posted on progress please...

May I be the Knowall? If it´s a 72, wouldn´t it need to have the earlier style door mirrors? The trapez form? Afaik, these are 74 model and later...

Also, for the 72 you´ll need the all alloy kidney, not the later chrome and plastic... Very $$$... But the E9 parts should fit, so maybe someone here is selling. Or you could part out the CS...

The wheels look great, so does the car!

BTW- Not sure what Tierfreund is talking about regarding the side mirror. It looks right to me; the same style that I have on my '72 coupe.
