Source for inner sunvisor clips

I know that user Frankie 123 is re-making the outer pivot mounts for sunvisors. But that isn't the part that I need.

Does anyone have a source for the inner clips that hold the ends of the sunvisors? These go on either side of where the interior rear view mirror mounts. See pictures below. I am contemplating replacing my headliner, and know that these clips are too embrittled by the sun to survive removal and replacement.

In the event that I won't be able to find reproduction parts, has anyone cobbled up a substitute? Something like a short length rigid plastic tubing with a 1/4" or 6 mm id that could be screwed to the roof where the factory clips used to go?

For extra credit, does anyone know if the sunvisors were actually able to snap in and out of these clips when our cars were new and the plastic wasn't brittle from 54 years in the sun and ozone?

ahah... but there still were extra points to be had!

yes, they are designed to snap in and out of the clips near the rearview mirror so can actually rotate the visors 90 degreees to the rear and cover the side window with it.

Ah, you get the extra points!

It was obvious that the outer sunvisor mounts were meant to pivot, but I could never wrestle the inner end of the sunvisor out of these brackets. And I sensed that the plastic on mine was so brittle that applying too much force would just shatter them.

The design of the original part seems deficient - the width of the gap in the factory part is so narrow that the plastic has to deform quite a bit before the visors come free. A wider groove - one that is just a bit smaller than the diameter of the sunvisor end - would work better. It would be nice if the brackets sold by La Jolla Independent allow the visors to be snapped in and out, but I'll be happy to take whatever I can get.
