anyone got a source for the thin sticky insulation that goes around the top of the front strut areas. some of mine has been cut out previously and i'd like to fill the gap with something as near to the original as possible.

Believe it or not I use.....Roofing felt WITHOUT the grit coating!
It looks just like the original stuff. You warm it up with a heat gun and then "stick" it on!
I used it on the floors, inside the doors etc of my 2002 when I rebuilt it

Yes you can paint it, but be careful don't overload the first coats otherwise it will react with the solvents. so loads of light coats first.
