Southern California: Looking to purchase a 2800/3.0 cs

Like the title says. I am looking into purchasing my first cs, I am interested in either a 3.0 or 2800 cs.

I have had several 2002's in the past, but I love the coupe!

I would be willing to drive out of state if the car is interesting enough.

3.0 in Charlotte, NC

Another car to consider is the 3.0 posted by Walter in Charlotte last week. I have some pictures I could forward. I was thinking about buying the car just for the spare parts (or at least that's what I told my wife) but really have no need and no storage for another. I have not seen it so I have no idea what the state of rust is, but it seems to be running and fairly well kept. That being said, I do not trust my own judgement when it comes to the bodies on these cars. It does have an upgraded 5 speed and recaro seats. Shoot me a PM with an email address if you are interested in pictures. It's about 90 minutes from me and I would be happy to have an excuse to take a look at it.

I am also considering a 2002/1600 as it would make more sense if I commuted, but damn the E9's are so pretty.

I'd consider a Bavaria too. Much tougher body than an E9.

I have a 1972 3.0 CS that I would be willing to sell. I has ONE rusty spot at the right rear inner rocker. I have the OEM replacement part. The inside rocker piece right at the rear window is bad for about 4 inches, but the jacking section and forward of this section are OK. Looks like an easy repair that can be done below the edge of the rocker trim strip.
Car was originally Fjord Blau, and has been repainted black, but the entire car would need to be repainted for any sort of restoration. Runs and drives great. Needs complete interior restoration (upholstery, wood, etc.). It has been stored indoors for the past 6 years, as I have not had time to start the restoration.

Let me know if you are interested. I am not sure what it is worth. The lack of body issues and good mechanicals puts it at the high end of the restoration candidate range, but it definitely has some way to go the become a showpiece.
