Yes, this is a genuine oem Bmw spare gas tank that was an option on the later cars such as the 5,6 and 7 series during the late 70's and 1980's.

It is still available from Max at bimmer.com. Go through the E24 model and you will find it for about half what this guy has it listed for.

It looks like at Max's though they don't have the filler for it? Or does that come with the tank? Does this fit inside the 14" wheels then so you can keep the spare?
